Noel Kyōya is the young son of Paxton and Urbain. He was born in Hyperspace Lumiose, where dreams can become reality, due to his parents shared desire to have a child together. He's a very talented artist, aspiring Pokémon trainer, and elementary school student.

Noel is a young child of average build, height, and stature. He has pale skin that’s often covered in varying shades of paint, mainly on his cheeks and hands. He has wide, oval-shaped bright blue irises and thick, rounded eyelashes. His hair is blackish-blue and fairly fluffy and messy, with each strand sweeping upwards, and poking out at varying angles. His hair is shoulder-length; the two longest pieces curl outwards at the end of his neck, one on each side. His eyebrows, like his hair, are blackish-blue, and are thick, long, and oval-shaped. He has a two-part, curly ahoge. One rests at the very top of his head, while the other one sweeps over the middle of his forehead, with the point reaching his eyebrows.A beige apron with a light brown checkered pattern rests on top of a dark blue sweater with a popped collar. The apron goes past his lower abdomen. It’s also stained in varying shades of paint, which almost completely covers the checkered-print design. Thick, dark brown string is tied around his waist, right around his hips, which ties into a large and flimsy bow on the back which dangles to his upper thighs. A long and thin black bow hangs below the sweater’s collar. The sweater's long sleeves are baggy, reach his wrists, and have wrist-tight, dark blue trim. He wears a pair of jet-black shorts that go to his upper knees, dark blue tights, and dark blue slip-on shoes with a black tongue and white rubber trim.

Noel is a sweet, caring, and creative boy who’s driven intensely by his passions. He loves to express his creativity, and chooses to do so with painting in bright colors. He’s positive, choosing to see the bright side when things go south, and is almost always wearing a beaming smile. Rarely does he get down; negative emotions never solve anything. That’s not to say he won’t get upset, however. He’ll cry if he consistently fails at something, or if he gets into a fight with someone, but that’s a rare occurrence. Fights in particular are so rare for him because he tries his best to fix the issue as fast as possible. He can’t stand any tension, and desperately wants to get along with everyone.If things get tense, or if he gets stressed, he tends to engage in his hobbies instead, choosing a positive outlet to express himself with rather than a negative one. He wears his heart on his sleeve, and struggles to hide how he truly feels. He goes through his life with a genuine smile, and treats everyone with kindness, even those who have wronged him. He doesn’t have a mean bone in his body. He fails to see, however, how this kindness can be detrimental to his wellbeing. Which is why, when the bottle of emotions he keeps to himself explodes, Noel doesn’t know how to handle it, but it’s very obvious he’s hurting.He’s giving and loves gifting his drawings. He’ll give them to his parents, friends, and even to strangers. He aims to make people smile, and is definitely good at it, thanks to his kindness, blinding optimism, and attitude. Likewise, his optimism makes him a great problem solver and listener. If a shoulder is needed to cry on, he’s there to help. He’s equally as good of a cheerleader as well. He encourages people to follow their passions no matter how dumb or ridiculous they may seem. No matter what, he can be found in the corner, rooting for his loved ones and providing support. He wants everyone to be happy.Noel’s energetic and struggles to sit still; he has a never-ending supply of energy. From sunrise to sunset, he’s out and about, and always doing something. His mind is always flowing with ideas he needs to put on a canvas. He hates being alone and needs to be surrounded by company. He thrives off attention, and while he isn’t an attention seeker per se, he does love having eyes on him. He’s extroverted and not shy about approaching people, especially if they seem lonely, or if he needs a friend. Making new friends isn’t hard for him in the slightest. He’ll include everyone in his games and art, in any way he can.Likewise, he’ll gladly include and listen to anyone who approaches him. He’s happy to talk about anything and everything! Even if he doesn’t understand the subject too well, he loves to learn. He’s incredibly trusting, so much so that he will believe anything that is told to him without question. He’s gullible and innocent, and quite naive, befitting of his age. He’s easily impressed and has an eye for even the smallest detail, a trait he picked up on from being an artist. He’ll notice and point out the strangest things. He’s immune to criticism, though he rarely listens to it in general. He does what he wants, and doesn’t let the opinions of others bring him down.Noel zones out frequently and has his head in the clouds. Rarely does he pay attention to his surroundings. This is especially true when he’s engrossed in his work; he’ll tune out the world around him. Because of this, he’s easily startled, and will jump with wide eyes and yelp when approached, suddenly or not. He gets lost in his thoughts, and tends to overthink. He’s honest to a fault, rarely will he tell a lie. If he does lie, however, it’s obvious, and usually is a white lie to spare another’s feelings. He gets visibly nervous and fidgety whenever he lies, and actively avoids eye contact.He has a clumsy streak, thanks in part due to his inability to pay attention to his surroundings. No matter where he goes, a mess seems to follow him, typically in the form of paint splatters. While Noel is apologetic about this trait, and will apologize with a polite bow, he still tends to forget to clean up after himself. If he gets a new art idea, or if something catches his eye, he’ll rush off to see it through. Nothing seems to bore the boy. Even with school, Noel’s entertained by the teachings on the chalkboard. While his mind tends to wander, and he can struggle to pay attention, he does try to behave! He can’t let his dads down with bad grades.

backstory ⨾

Born in Hyperspace from Paxton’s and Urbain’s desire to have a child together, Noel’s early years are filled with false memories; he simply came to be at his current age of 8. Every memory is real to him, however, from his parents being Paxton and Urbain, to his birthday being April 28th, to his first day of kindergarten, to being given his partner Pokémon: Smeargle and Goomy, and so on. All 8 years, created in a flash. The memories aren’t overly detailed, just little moments he wholeheartedly believes happened, in a world devoid of color.Which was why, when Noel suddenly woke up one day, in a random alleyway without his parents at his side, he was confused. He could have sworn he was just with his parents, yet they were no where to be seen. That was the exact moment he came to be; when he was born. He just didn’t know it yet. While scared, he was determined to find home, believing he had only just gotten lost. He had no clue of the truth behind his situation… yet. So, he began to explore.While traversing through Hyperspace Lumiose, in search of Urbain and Paxton, he’d eventually stumble across a portal. Curious, he’d stick his hand in it, and be sucked inside. Falling through a myriad of colors, within the blink of an eye, Noel would suddenly be lying on cold, hard concrete. Upon sitting upright, he’d find himself in a somewhat familiar city: Lumiose City. But it was slightly different from what he remembered.Instead of it being white, it was engulfed in colors. Every way Noel looked, something new caught his eye. Nevertheless, he pressed on. With only a couple faint memories to guide his direction, Noel continued to aimlessly wander the streets, again in search of his parents. After a while of searching, he’d eventually stumble upon Hotel Z—the place he’s called home since “birth”—but it, too, was different. Colorful.Swallowing his fear, Noel would begin to explore the interior of the building and attempt to integrate himself in with the occupants of both Hotel Z and Lumiose City. No doubt startling everyone, and confusing them, too, with his sudden presence and crazy story. But despite their reluctance to believe him, Noel was adamant in his situation and existence. He’d make himself and his past known to everyone.Thus, allowing current (and future) interactions to transpire.

01.) Loves painting. He’s always making something!02.) Trying to learn how to play the guitar and other instruments. He’s not any good at it, and tends to just make a lot of noise, but he’s learning.03.) Naveen taught him how to crochet. While Noel would love to learn how to sew, his parents don’t want him to poke himself with needles. However, he can’t crochet complicated designs. He mostly makes potholders for Urbain to use while cooking. He has so many potholders…04.) The fridge is covered in drawings he’s made.05.) Loves sweets.06.) Can’t sleep alone, unless he has a nightlight.07.) If asked what his favorite color is, he short-circuits. He loves them all too much!08.) Makes average to above average grades in school. Noel’s birthday, April 28th, was the day he was created by the writer.21.) The only time Noel’s able to remain still is when he’s sat atop the rooftop of Hotel Z. He’ll stare in complete awe at all the color in the city, since he was used to it being white.22.) He has an abstract art style. He focuses mostly on shapes and colors, rather than anything too realistic.23.) He has only a single social media account: an Instagranbull (Instagram) account that is set to private. He uses it to post his art and pictures of his Pokémon. It has a small following that’s just members of MZ and a handful of other trusted friends. Paxton and Urbain closely monitor it.24.) Loves bows and ribbons.25.) He’s aware he’s from Hyperspace Lumiose and grapples with it sometimes, but ultimately, is happy with his life as is.

- Caught by Urbain.
- While Noel was out on a walk, it started to pour down rain and thunderstorm. Noel, scared of the thunder, started crying and tried to find shelter. When he took cover behind a bench near the Saison Canal, Goomy took notice. Worried for him, Goomy approached him and led him to a safe, dry place, in the nearby sewers. Goomy let him hug it while they waited for the storm to pass. When the weather finally cleared up, Goomy stuck close to the boy's side and followed him home. Once the duo made it back, Noel told Urbain about Goomy. Touched, Urbain caught it for Noel.
- Like Noel, its existence was created in Hyperspace. The above memories were fabricated, but are real to the two of them.
- Goomy and Noel are best buds. They go everywhere together and are never seen apart.
- It’s a kind and easy-going Pokémon that likes to nap. If it’s not napping, it’s cheerfully observing Noel. It has a happy and sweet personality. Despite being weak, Goomy’s extremely protective of its trainer.
- It looks up to Urbain’s Goodra as a role model. It hopes it can be as strong as Goodra one day!

- While Noel and his dads were on a walk near Route 7, Smeargle suddenly emerged from nearby tall grass and immediately took an interest in Noel and his paint-stained apron. It followed the family around until Paxton finally caught it for Noel.
- Like Noel, Smeargle’s existence was created in Hyperspace. The above memories were fabricated, but are real to the two of them.
- Smeargle likes to help Noel with his paintings. Its painting style is chaotic, but colorful. It takes pride in its work.
- It taught Noel how to make berries into paint.
- Messes are inevitable when the two are together.
- Smeargle goes at its own pace. While it can be slow to pick up on things, it enjoys learning, and is overall enthusiastic about life. It’s incredibly creative, and spends all its time painting with Noel. If Noel’s asleep, it’ll continue to paint. It has numerous ideas that it needs to let out!
- Its name means “green” in French. Noel named it Vert because of the green paint on the tip of its tail.
